National Educator and Keynote: Master Varii

Master Varii (She/Her/Ma’am) is a covered Indigenous Leather Woman and Southeast Master 2022 & 2023. Recognized for her contributions to education within the Leather community, she was honored as the MAsT International Presenter of the Year in 2024. She currently serves as the MAsT Southeast Regional Representative and Co-Director of MAsT Thomson. As the founder and head of House of Valor, a diverse leather house grounded in the principles of servant leadership, Master Varii is dedicated to fostering growth, accountability, and authentic connection. She is also the curator of the Leather Quilt Project, which works to preserve Leather history by honoring the stories, meaning, and energy represented in each square. A sought-after educator, Master Varii teaches throughout the United States and internationally via Zoom. Her presentations span a wide range of topics, including Master/slave dynamics, authority transfer relationships, leadership development, mentorship, service, and practical skill-based kink education. With more than four decades of experience on the left side of the slash, Master Varii brings both lived experience and practical insight to her teaching. Her personal journey includes a 38-year full-time Master/slave, Total Authority Transfer dynamic with her husband, as well as a variety of authority transfer relationships with individuals seeking service, structure, growth, and deep connection. Known for her straightforward approach, Master Varii believes that honesty, transparency, communication, and continuous personal growth form the foundation of healthy and sustainable power exchange relationships. Much like building a house the foundation must be laid, then piece by piece a structure must be formed that will withstand the winds of time and the day-to-day challenges of life. In this class we will look at some of the building materials needed and techniques that help create strong relationship dynamics tailored to your needs. Class: Whips: Sensual to Sadistic Whips are often thought of as tools of torture and extreme pain. While that can be true, they can also be used erotically! Like any tool, in the hands of an experienced and well-trained whips top, the swish, crack of the whip can be mesmerizing and can flow from sensual to sadistic and back again. We will look at the art of building a whips scene. We will also explore a variety of whips and how to achieve the results you desire. Master Malik is an avid practitioner of old fashion SM and strongly believes in a powerful connection between SM and the spiritual realm. Significant similarities between Leather and Sufism have helped Master Malik to continue his journey on the path of mastery and slavery with his slaves, slave Cathy, slavegirl Marion, and slave SweetSalt. He strongly believes with passion in "Acceptance", "Tolerance" and "Diversity" of our larger tribe. He is proud to have the privilege of presenting and judging at several local, regional, national and international events and gatherings. Class: Music & Soul of the Canes Canes are pretty much synonymous with punishment in all times, ages, cultures and societies. “Best of Six” or “Victorian Discipline” are just two examples. News reports associate canes with punishment such as the case of the young man caned in Singapore a few years ago. In the BDSM realm canes evoke a harsh image when referred to but there is also an overlooked side to canes. One of sensuality. Have you considered the catharsis aspect of a good caning? Class: Living Our Leather Leather is defined in many ways but in the end, it is always an individual definition uniquely fitting to the person or persons who profess to practice it. Leather is a way of life based on common human values and a strong correlation of practices of enjoying the sexual energy and rough sex. It is also a second skin of choice and affirmation to our common human values and what we believe in. Living our leather, for us, is also unique. We do not have to wear our leathers all the time, or even most of the time to feel that we are leather. Leather is physical, emotional, mental and for some, spiritual way of living. We try to live our life as a leather couple. Our relationship is based on respect, integrity, honesty, love and loyalty. These are basic human values. Leather adds another factor in that i.e. Sexual Energy and sometimes Rough Sex.! We practice this, knowingly or subconsciously. We do not wear our leather all the time or even most of the time. But when we put them on, it is like our second skin of choice. We practice our rituals which are part of our life. We observe our protocol for each other and for members of our larger tribe. We do this without making a big show of it but it enriches our daily life and help our love for each other. Living our Leather, for us, also means that we are constantly growing and changing and we acknowledge it and make necessary adjustments. We shall share our views on this subject which may not be for everybody. We may discuss some things which could be controversial to others. We shall talk about our ideas and perhaps secrets, how to keep our leather alive. Class: Sensations of Clothes Pins And Other Pinchy Things When Shakers invented the clothes pin back in 19th century, we wonder if they ever thought of them being used for something else than hanging wet clothes. Of course, we as the rebels and seekers of different paths found better ways to use them. Sensations of clothes pins and other pinchy things are lots of fun. They are easy to learn, does not require lots of practice or money and clean up. Safety aspects of clothes pin are also very simple. Lots of common sense and open communication if the key. Then of course, why keep the interaction only with clothes pins? Lets combine them with floggers, whips, canes, and strings and whatever your imagination could muster up. We shall discuss different types of clothes pins, clamps and pinching ideas. How long to keep them on the skin? Where not to use them? Safety aspects of this simple SM play? After care? How to negotiate this scene? What to look for? What is zipper? Please bring your own clothes pins if you have them. We shall have them plenty on hand. boy Xtian (he/they) is a transmasc nonbinary goblin who has been involved in the leather and kink community for 13 years. The class discusses how to dismantle societal hierarchies and build custom-fit connections based on autonomy and mutual consent rather than obligation. Attendees will leave with a new perspective on their interpersonal connections and the tools to navigate a life lived without a script. Class: The Guerrilla Bootblack: Logistics, Layout, and Etiquette You have the skills, but how do you run a successful stand without a permanent throne? In this session, boy Xtian covers the essential logistics of mobile bootblacking, from managing digital payments and advertising to the "folding chair hustle." The class dives into stand etiquette—how to manage the line, engage with the crowd, and maintain the sanctity of the chair in a busy environment. Attendees will learn how to adapt ergonomics for improvised setups and turn any space into a professional experience. Whether prepping for a local munch or a major convention, students will walk away understanding both the business side of the brush and the social grace of the stand. Class: The Recovery Lens: Codependency in Kink In a community that celebrates deep devotion, the line between "total service" and "total loss of self" can become dangerously thin. Drawing on his lived experience in active recovery for codependency, Xtian explores the difficult intersection of healing and power- exchange dynamics. This class offers a raw, honest look at how these cycles weave into kink relationships and how to begin the journey of breaking free. He shares his personal story alongside practical tools for reclaiming autonomy without sacrificing the capacity for deep connection. This session provides a compassionate framework for identifying red flags, setting boundaries, and moving from a place of survival toward healthy, intentional interdependence.

Lash Onyx, Bear Marvin, co-head of house, Domum Corium Cordis, House of Leather heart, is Founder and President of Onyx High Desert, associate 15 Association and Chicago Hellfire Club, Corazon Leather 2023 and New Mexico Leather Bear 2019, Mama’s Kinky Martian. He enjoys impact play, rope, Fisting, Watersports, power exchange. Marvin worked HIV/AIDS awareness in the Navy and was in the 1993 March on Washington. He travels to many events across the USA with his husband, Mike. Class: Better BDSM with Passion Including passion as part of our engagement of BDSM makes the hottest and most memorable scenes, yet many times it is absent or difficult to see as people focus on technique, safety, consent, are worried about feelings, don’t know the other player well, or are too nervous or inexperienced to incorporate passion. This class provides constructs, tools, techniques, and demos for understanding how passion can work in BDSM so that players can better enjoy scenes. Class participants can talk about their best ideas and experiences. Passion can start with simple energy exchange but can extend to eroticism, sex, and spirituality. We will begin with a talk providing context and supposition about passion in BDSM scenes including examples of where it is seen and absent, what constitutes passion, why to include it. Brief demonstrations will be offered to illustrate how to include passion in BDSM. A voluntary discussion with the audience will occur throughout about how they use passion or avoid it in BDSM scenes.
